Sarita Baron is from Silver Spring, Maryland, and began playing the flute at 10 years old. In high school, she participated in her school’s wind ensemble and pit orchestra. Additionally, she was a member of the Montgomery County Senior Honors Band, Maryland Classical Youth Orchestra Senior Flute Choir, and principal flutist for the Potomac Valley Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. At UVA, she is continuing her studies under Dr. Kelly Sulick, and is part of the UVA wind ensemble and flute ensemble. Sarita is honored to be a Miller Arts Scholar and is excited to find community within the arts at UVA.
