Armen Boghosian
Armen Boghosian is a second-year student from Alexandria, Virginia, studying economics and data science. He began private violin lessons at the age of six, influenced by his Great Uncles, Miran Kojian and Varujan Kojian, who both studied violin under Jascha Heifetz. In 2014, Armen began instruction under then National Symphony Orchestra first violinist Linda Schroeder. Throughout middle school and high school, he participated in the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association Annual District X Orchestra each year. He was also involved in a men's chorus in early high school, showcasing his broad skills in music.
As a high school junior, he led the Washington Metropolitan Youth Orchestra as concertmaster. In 2021, he began studying under "Pershing's Own" U.S. Army Strings violinist Jordan Hendy. He thrived on learning more challenging solo pieces such as Symphonie Espagnole by Édouard Lalo. He was featured to perform the piece accompanied by the Washington Metropolitan Youth Orchestra and also played it along with Csárdás, by Vittorio Monti, at his final recital. At UVA, Armen enjoys being a member of the Charlottesville Symphony Orchestra as well as the Daniel Sender Violin Studio, where he is continuing to learn violin at a high level. Music has been a constant part of his life, and he holds deep appreciation for the arts. Armen is honored to be a part of the Miller Arts community and is looking forward to collaborating with fellow musicians in a meaningful way.
