Grant Description
The proper shoes to ensure safety, a professional look, and preparation is a must. As a very experienced dancer who competed in dance competitions around the world, I have always had my eye on La Duca Character Shoes and Jason Samuel Smith Tap shoes. Both shoes are extremely expensive but necessary for an aspiring professional. These shoes would not only better prepare me, but they would also improve my style of dance.

Advancing Performing Skills & Experience

Gwyneth Fahy is thrilled to be a member of the Miller Arts Scholar program here at the University of Virginia. She is currently a nursing major with a drama minor. Gwyneth began dancing at the age of three and soon became very involved in musical theatre. She began her theatre career as Gretl in The Sound of Music and has not looked back since. Here at UVA, she is involved with As You Like It and teaches at the children theater company daily. Not only is Gwyneth a teaching artist for their after-school program but also a choreographer for their conservatory productions. She is beyond grateful for her involvement at DMR and loves nothing more than sharing her passion of the arts with younger generations. She has goals of professional performing and is looking forward to greater experience and collaboration with other passionate artists here in the Miller Arts Program.
